The three largest REITs, I need to look into 

1. Simon Property Group [SPG], the biggest owner of malls and other retail properties in the country;
   
2. Boston Properties [BXP], a large owner of Class A offices in New York, Washington, Boston and San Francisco; 
   
3. AvalonBay Communities [AVB], one of the largest owners of rental apartments in the most vibrant rental markets on the east and west coasts. 
   

All three are well capitalized, in the Standard & Poor's 500, extremely well managed, well positioned from a property standpoint, and with a lot of capital so they aren't going to be caught in a liquidity crunch - supposedly !! :).

Is internet juggetnaut (likes of Amazon and ebay)  going to kill the Mall..maybe..

Will technology advances (and high Gas prices) force people to telecommute ..again maybe..People will always need a place to stay ( and telecommute from)..AVB is worth looking into.

why I want to start a blog ?? well..I have been pondering for a while now. I am an ardent follower of the financial news..investment advise etc etc..and occassionaly dabble with the markets. Often I come across people..who suggest investment ideas and their investment techniques..read articles that also suggest investment ideas. With time ...I forget what I should buy and when I should buy. 

So I want to start writing it down...pen or rather key down my ideas so that I can access them when Mr. Market presents the right opportunity. Here are the sources that I follow
